We turn parking spaces into long-term mobility solutions
Mobility hubs are a relatively new concept but are becoming increasingly common in cities. The difference between a mobility hub and a traditional parking garage is that the mobility hub offers flexible mobility solutions and shared services for residents, while the traditional parking garage focuses solely on parking spaces for privately owned cars.
With the unique expertise and market position we have, there are significant opportunities to initiate collaborations with municipalities already at the planning stage. To create and free up space for a comprehensive mobility solution, parking needs to be resolved in a combined parking and mobility facility. Such a solution is significantly more cost-effective than parking solutions in every basement. These are precisely the types of properties we develop.
The comprehensive mobility solution is customised to local needs and includes a full range of transport options for easy movement of people and goods in and out of the area. These include connections to public transport, car and bike-sharing, package delivery lockers, home deliveries with electric vehicles, and local waste collection. The solution is complemented by a service package tailored to the community, such as a grocery store, bike repair shop, or meeting spaces on the activated ground floor, reducing the overall need for travel.
Together with community-level energy solutions, including property batteries and micro power grids, a sustainable infrastructure is created. Additionally, a digital portal ties together the comprehensive offering in real-time. An offering that ensures that a municipality’s overarching, long-term, and sustainable strategies can be implemented in practice.
The year in brief
Two mobility hubs have already been completed: the Solkvarteret mobility hub in Hyllie and the Stationsstaden parking garage in Kävlinge. The Pottholmen mobility hub is presently under construction, and building rights and/or land reservations have been secured for an additional 22 projects in places such as Helsingborg, Lund, Ystad, and Uppsala.
This year, we also launched our “Catch the Market” strategy, with the goal of filling our project portfolio within the segments we have identified to be of interest.
