She wants to build Sweden’s top cloud consultancy.
Building a company from scratch to fifty employees with specialist expertise in just a few years takes a lot of effort. It takes a deep understanding of the industry you’re operating in. It takes finding skilled and motivated employees and helping them thrive and develop. It takes someone like Rashin Kabodvand.
Rashin is the CEO of Sigma Technology Cloud, and the first impression she gives is that of a calm, attentive, and thoughtful person – though not someone with her head in the clouds. Well, actually, she is. But not in that fluffy, vague way the saying suggests. On the contrary, she has a solid grip on the business, and everything related to their cloud services. You can also sense a straightforward and direct personality, where truths are delivered even when they’re uncomfortable, but always with warmth. It is this warmth and genuine curiosity that leave the most lasting impression of Rashin.
“I’m a family-oriented person, and my loved ones are the most important to me. We are close in my family, and I like that. And that’s probably why I strive to establish the same close-knit spirit in our workplace,” says Rashin about her strong family ties.
When asked to describe herself, Rashin uses words like brave, diligent, outspoken, generous, and passionate. She’s also someone who enjoys being there for others, both at work and outside of it.
“I’m also a person who is very direct and transparent, which is well reflected in my leadership. I’m happy to challenge things if necessary or if I disagree, and I’m not afraid to fight battles in a way others wouldn’t. And you might either love me or think I’m just a bit of a handful,” Rashin laughs as she describes herself.
Rashin earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from Stockholm University in 2013. During her studies, she had no specific career dreams other than a great passion for IT. She’s remained loyal to that passion and the industry ever since. She started as a systems developer and IT consultant at Cybercom Group. After a few years, she became a consulting manager and eventually ended her time there as a business area manager. In the autumn of 2020, Rashin received an offer to help start a new company in Stockholm, with the position of vice CEO on the table.
“It was really exciting and flattering, and I thought it sounded very inspiring to be involved in starting something new and building it entirely from scratch. But vice CEO… That wasn’t good enough. I really wanted complete freedom to build something I believe in, in my own way. So, I went ‘all in’ and said, it’s CEO or nothing,” Rashin explains about how she began her Sigma career.
And it was a success. The company was founded in January 2021 with zero employees, but now, three years later, they have fifty employees, and the business is thriving. Rashin’s goal is to double the number of employees within a few years – an ambition that doesn’t seem far-fetched. There’s no doubt that many companies need help moving their operations to the cloud. But there are also more businesses that Rashin and her team can streamline by guiding them to the right cloud services. And that’s one of Rashin’s goals for the company: to land more and larger companies as clients.
“Another goal I have is to continue working on our great company culture. The level of satisfied co-workers is exceptionally high, and we have less than 10 percent staff turnover, which must be some kind of record in the IT consulting industry,” Rashin proudly shares about the positive atmosphere within the company.

As a leader, Rashin is personal, present, and inclusive. She is also an outstanding relationship builder. When she wants to implement something, she works upwards and outwards, avoiding anything that even remotely resembles top-down management. She’s keen on driving change, but when something works and is successful, she’s happy to make a routine of it. After all, who wouldn’t want success to become routine?
“Yes, I like routines. But only if they’re there to simplify and streamline. If they no longer work, I have no problem replacing them with more updated ones. One of my favourite routines is probably the one I have on Fridays when I come home from work and make my homemade pizza. A Friday without my pizza is not a proper Friday,” Rashin says, sharing her passion for good pizza and good routines.
When Rashin isn’t working, she prefers to have as little planned as possible. Ideally, she likes to see her personal schedule empty, as that’s when she relaxes best. During her free time, she spends a lot of time with family and friends, and there’s often a lot of cooking involved. Because if there’s one thing Rashin enjoys, it’s making sure that people around her are happy. It’s important to her to be generous, sincere, and genuine in everything she does, which is why she believes in creating an inclusive and family-like atmosphere at her workplace.
“I want to be as close as possible to all our employees, to know them well, how many children they have, what their interests are, and what they’re passionate about,” Rashin concludes, describing her ambition to continue being the brave and eager whirlwind, driving a company with the goal and ambition of being the best in Sweden.
