Sigma Software

Sigma Software Group and Respeecher have released a Swedish text-to-speech (TTS) voice model for enterprises and public sector organizations that serve Swedish users. Organizations can use the model on its own, as the speech layer in voice applications they build themselves, or take a complete Swedish-speaking voice agent that Sigma Software Group builds on it. The model was trained on Swedish-language data rather than adapted from an English-first model, and it can be deployed on-premises or in an EU sovereign cloud, so organizations keep control over where speech is generated and how data is handled.

The release combines Respeecher’s voice synthesis technology with Sigma Software Group’s experience taking AI systems into production for enterprise and public-sector clients in Sweden and across the Nordics. Respeecher’s technology has been used in major entertainment productions, including four Oscar-nominated films, and earned the company an Emmy Award. Sigma Software Group contributes the engineering that turns a voice model into a working voice agent: enterprise architecture, integration with existing systems and knowledge, and deployment in the customer’s own environment.

Most commercial TTS is trained primarily on English and adapted to other languages afterwards, and native speakers hear the difference in pronunciation and intonation. This model was trained on Swedish datasets from the start and validated with independent native Swedish speakers before release. It is intended for customer-facing and internal scenarios in banking, healthcare, automotive, e-commerce, and public services.

The model is available for on-premises and EU sovereign-cloud deployment. Since it can run entirely within an environment the customer controls, it supports organizations working under AI Act transparency and GDPR data protection obligations, and under sector rules on cybersecurity and operational resilience such as DORA and NIS2.

Why Sweden, and Why Now

In February 2026, Sweden presented its first comprehensive national AI strategy, with the goal of placing the country among the world’s top ten AI nations and making its public administration a world leader in AI use. Public and private organizations are expected to accelerate AI adoption as a result.

Sovereignty requirements are tightening at the same time. Under the US CLOUD Act, US-based providers can be required to disclose data in their possession, custody, or control even when that data is stored in Europe. Swedish buyers therefore increasingly distinguish between data stored in Sweden and data controlled from within the EU, on top of the obligations they already carry under EU rules on AI governance, transparency, and operational resilience.

What the Model Addresses

Organizations that pilot voice AI in Swedish tend to run into the same two problems: the voice does not sound native, and the system responds too slowly for live conversation.

Training on Swedish data from the start gives the model native pronunciation, intonation, and conversational quality. Low generation latency means a voice agent built on the model can respond in real time, which keeps it usable for live customer conversations and voice-driven automation. Respeecher’s voice technology also allows an organization to create its own branded voice and keep it consistent across customer touchpoints instead of using a stock voice shared with other companies.

”Sweden has long been one of Sigma Software Group’s key markets. The enterprise and public-sector organizations we work with there are looking for practical ways to apply AI to customer service and operations, and natural-sounding speech is only one layer of that: a voice agent also has to understand the caller, work with the organization’s systems and knowledge, meet domain and governance requirements, and run in environments they trust. So we offer both: the Swedish TTS model for teams building their own voice solutions, and complete Swedish-speaking voice agents that we build and take to production.”

Evgeniy Bachinskiy, Vice President and AI Center of Excellence Lead, Sigma Software Group

“Our experience across speech technology has shown that high-quality language performance starts with the right training data and a deep understanding of the language itself. Over the years, we’ve developed a training approach that works well with highly specific speech datasets. For this project with Sigma Software, we trained the model directly on native Swedish data, which gave it a solid foundation in pronunciation, rhythm and intonation from the outset.”

Voice Agents with Enterprise Knowledge

In the voice agents Sigma Software Group delivers, the Swedish model is combined with SIMA, the company’s enterprise AI knowledge management platform, so the agent can answer employees and customers from governed company knowledge: procedures, documentation, and data held in enterprise systems. Sigma Software Group builds these deployments as a whole: speech, knowledge integration, governance, and enterprise architecture are designed together, since the value of a voice agent depends on the knowledge and systems it can reach.
