Milestones that have shaped our journey.

The Danir Group continues its journey with a strong focus on long-term sustainability, entrepreneurship, and dedicated employees. The timeline highlights some of the key milestones that have defined Danir since its founding in 1986.

Danir milestones
2025

Danir strengthens its executive team as Fredrik Hedlund is appointed CEO of Danir AB and Marcus Pramgård becomes CFO. This change marks the start of the group’s next phase of development. During the year, Nexer acquires the fast-growing specialist company Qgroup, and Cindrigo is listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.

2023

Nexer acquires a majority in the German consulting company Holisticon.

2022

Our Ukrainian subsidiary, Sigma Software, performs a heroic feat by continuing to deliver fully to clients and achieve growth despite Russia’s war of aggression. Star for Life is established in Ukraine and Jerusalem.

2021

Sigma IT becomes its own sub-group and changes its name to Nexer. The Danir Group surpasses 10,000 employees.

2020

Danir acquires shares in Poolia and becomes the new principal owner of the staffing company.

2017

Danir acquires Assistera, which, together with Sigma Society, becomes A Society. This is also the year that Danir/Sigma launches New Year’s Eve as “International Expect a Better Tomorrow Day”. A completely new way to contribute to a better tomorrow.

2013

Danir buys out Sigma, now with 1,400 employees, from the stock exchange. As a privately-owned company, the focus now shifts to long-term vision and organic growth.

2012

Epsilon is divested to strengthen the group’s financial base and enable a diversification of investments.

2011

The initiative for Uppstart Malmö is taken; a commitment to breaking down social exclusion and helping young people gain employment.

2010

Danir becomes deeply involved with FC Rosengård, the football club that, through its unique projects both on and off the pitch, demonstrates how important sport and community life are to society.

2006

Looking eastward to Ukraine, we acquired what is now Sigma Software, which at the time had 60 employees. Today, the company has over 2,000 employees globally.

2005

On the initiative of Dan and Christin Olofsson, Star for Life is founded. It is a programme based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, aimed at stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS and helping young people lead better lives.

2003

Sigma is named the best IT consultant by 200 major companies, and in the same year, we buy out Epsilon from the stock exchange.

2002

This year, we broaden our operations and take a step in a completely new direction with the launch of Thanda Private Game Reserve, an exclusive safari lodge in South Africa.

2001

Sigma reaches 3,300 employees and is divided into three new listed companies: Sigma, Teleca, and Epsilon, all of which have Danir as the principal owner. Teleca is later divested in 2008.

1997

Sigma now has about 600 employees and is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s O-list.

1993

Danir acquires Sapia Teknik, which has 400 employees, and shortly thereafter changes the company name to Sigma, broadening its operations to include IT consultancy services.

1986

It all started when Dan Olofsson was commissioned by Sapia to establish Sapia Teknik, a new business focused on technical consulting services. Danir was founded and was then a minor shareholder in Sapia.

Organic growth, a strategy that strengthens culture and value.
