Children and young people with disabilities are a group that is often physically inactive and may struggle to find activities adapted to them. To address this issue, Hugos Stiftelse (Hugo’s Foundation) raises funds to support associations and organisations that work to promote a more active and healthier life for children and youth with disabilities. Funds are raised through events such as Glädjeruset, a running event that allows everyone to participate in their own way.

2025 in brief

In 2025, Glädjeruset grew with the addition of a new race in Kalmar. The Täby event was once again a success, with nearly 1,500 participants, and in Skellefteå the race celebrated its fourth year in a row. We also arranged a children’s run in Gällivare, where over 200 kids took part, as well as a race in Kungsträdgården.

Our initiative Hugoloppet, created to inspire joy of movement at adapted primary and secondary schools, once again set a new participation record. Over 100 schools and 4,500 pupils joined in during 2025.

Hugos Stiftelse continued to award scholarships, including to Unika Nanna and the para-football team Solstrålarna. We also teamed up with Parasport Stockholm on the inclusion project “More in the Stands.”

Organic growth, a strategy that strengthens culture and value.
