FC Rosengård is not only a successful football club but also an active force for social change. Using football as a tool, we work to drive positive change in society. Our vision is to create an equal Malmö – one that includes all communities and people; a Malmö where every child and family dares to believe in their dreams and sets goals for the future, both on and off the pitch.
As a club, we stand on two equally important pillars – sports and social commitment – and we invest just as much in our social initiatives as we do in our sporting activities.
We continue to invest in children and young people. Today, 900 boys and girls from over 70 nationalities are active in the club. We focus on where the needs are greatest, creating a safe environment for youth to grow through football – on and off the pitch.
Through Boost by FCR, we help young adults find their place in working life. A new ESF-funded project for women born outside Sweden, together with a Swedish Inheritance Fund initiative to further develop our methods for motivational group dialogue, enables us to equip even more youth with valuable life skills.
Coach for Life trains future female leaders and allows us to offer reading sessions, homework support, summer programmes and free activities for hundreds of children each week, while young role models inspire the next generation.
In the Move project, we collaborate with Novo Nordisk and the City of Malmö to counter childhood obesity through physical activity and education for youth and women’s groups in Rosengård.
Internationally, Football for Life now reaches over 1,000 girls and young women in South Africa, demonstrating how long-term commitment drives lasting social change.
Our philosophy is simple: we act on real needs and let development happen naturally, creating sustainable communities where children and youth can grow, develop and find their place in life.
Our investment in a coach developer is paying off, with around 100 new children and youths joining programmes at Malmö IP and Rosengårds IP. Elitfotboll Dam ranked us Sweden’s third-best girls’ academy, and in spring 2025, 14 of our players represented the youth national teams.
Following the gold-winning 2024 season, several women’s first team players continued their professional careers abroad. The motto “believe in your dream” became reality at clubs such as Manchester City, Tottenham, Fiorentina, and Newcastle. We are now prioritising the development of younger players, reducing the squad’s average age from 29 to 22. While this may affect league results in the short term, it will strengthen the team for the future.
The men’s team delivered one of its best seasons in Ettan Södra. Sixteen-year-old Leeroy Keti secured a move to Allsvenskan club IFK Värnamo, and our under-16 side qualified for Pojkallsvenskan.
FC Rosengård also received PRO Malmö’s Equality Award, while Boost by FCR was recognised with Sparbanken Syd’s Economic Health Award.
