The year in brief
The year has been exciting, challenging and stimulating. We continue to strengthen our ambition to positively influence the development of Swedish schools in the long term. Thanks to a stable funding plan, we have been able to expand our staff of school strategists, giving us the opportunity to reach out to more schools.
In addition to our work in Sweden, this year the method has also been implemented in four schools in East Jerusalem. The goal is to benefit children’s mental health in vulnerable areas, as a preventive measure.
In 2022, both the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine have affected our work. COVID-19 was the reason why we decided early on to become a crisis partner for schools. We developed pedagogical materials with a focus on remote learning for educators and students and produced inspirational films in collaboration with UR.
Together with Save the Children and the Ukrainian Embassy, we organised a seminar in the spring to give educators and school leaders guidance on how children and young people from Ukraine can be integrated into the Swedish school environment.
Never before have children and young people in Sweden so clearly expressed concern for the future. Crises, wars and a rapid pace of change are causing uncertainty and anxiety and increasing the risk of mental illness. In response, this year we have consolidated our resources, uniting various actors, organisations and researchers. Together we will address the issue of mental health and provide self-leadership training in Swedish schools.
