Star for Life is a unique programme to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS among young people in Southern Africa. The vision is to inspire schoolchildren to believe in their future and their dreams, and to support them in work to live a life without AIDS.
Star for Life was launched in 2005 by Christin and Dan Olofsson. The Olofssons already had a number of involvements in Southern Africa, and down the years they have been able to see how hard the disease has hit families and communities.
Star for Life is now one of Sweden’s leading organizations working to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS. The project reaches more than 100 000 young people and their families in South Africa and Namibia. There is also all the dissemination of information and the tens of thousands who take part as singers and audiences during Star for Life’s national tours of Sweden every year.
