Sigma launches a new innovation competition for middle school
The decreasing interest in technology among children and young people is a downward trend that needs to be reversed. Sigma has taken note of this and is launching the Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race. An innovation competition for all middle school students in Sweden. To inspire them to find the joy and playfulness of technology and innovations.
Interest in technology is dropping drastically among young people and there is a shortage of technical skills and engineers. A deficiency which, if we do nothing about it, will continue to exist in the future. Therefore, Sigma is launching the Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race. An exciting and challenging competition for all middle school classes throughout Sweden. Because in middle school, children’s interest in technology is still very high, only to decrease when starting upper school. Therefore, Experts of Tomorrow Innovation Race wants to pick up that interest and inspire more young people to continue with a technical education. So, we can start building the future team of experts and problem solvers now.
In this year’s Innovation Race, the participating classes will create something that can make their city and everyday life more fun, better, safer and/or easier. It could be a gadget, an app, a road or maybe even a building of some kind.
The ten best ideas will be nominated and acknowledged for their creativity and be named Experts of Tomorrow. At the live broadcast final, the jury, led by Magnus Göransson, known from Swedish LEGO Masters, will present the best and most innovative contribution. The winning class gets a big prize for the school and a personal prize for all the innovators. The competition period begins on 1/9 2024 and registration is open now!
